An effective way to ensure gender mainstreaming in the National Arts Act.No. 23 of 1984 and other laws governing the arts and cultural sector can be summarized as advocating for amendment of the laws to accommodate competent representation of all genders and gender inclusion within the decision-making bodies of the arts and cultural sector. Competent representation of all genders ensures that the needs and views of all genders are well-represented while gender inclusion ensures the allocation of resources abides by the needs of all genders.
